Shipping policy
Manufacturing Time
The Company of Fifers and Drummers Online Store uses “print on demand” and “drop shipping” services. This means that the items are manufactured when the order is received and shipped directly by the manufacturer. By doing this, we minimize our overhead, don’t get stuck with unwanted products, and can more frequently change designs and products.
Because items are manufactured when the order is placed, any physical products purchased will need to be produced before they are shipped to you. It generally takes 2-7 business days to manufacture the products. Fulfilment centers are located throughout the US and globally.
Shipping rates & costs
We use two different vendors for our merchandise - one for books, and one for all other products. Shipping rates are calculated by each vendor using live shipping rates.
Shipping rates for books
A single, 200 page coil bound book, starts at approximately $5 for mail in the US and $8 international. Large book orders (greater than 15 pounds, 1 book is about 1 pound) should be sent via ground to reduce shipping costs. Additional options are provided for express delivery.
Shipping rates for clothing and merchandise
A single item starts at approximately $5 for mail in the US for standard delivery. Additional options are provided for express delivery.
Shipping rates for combined books and clothing/merchandise
When combining books and other merchandise, each vendor automatically chooses the lowest cost shipping rate and combines the two rates. Additional options are not provided for express delivery. In order to get multiple shipping options, please purchase books separately from all other items.
Shipping methods and delivery times
The average shipping time for standard and express shipping times are as follows:
- Standard (3–6 business days in the US, 4–7 business days in Canada, 5–20 business days internationally)
- Express (1–3 business days in the US, Canada, and internationally)
Shipping times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Express and Expedited delivery methods deliver Monday through Friday.
Please allow for additional transit times when shipping outside of the continental United States (Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, APO addresses, and other US territories). If transit times exceed 14-21 days, please contact store@companyoffifeanddrum.org who at their discretion may place a reorder
Notifications
A shipment notification email will be sent to the email address entered during checkout once your products are packaged for delivery. A tracking number will be included in the email if the method chosen during checkout was traceable.
Military APO/FPO and Diplomatic DPO Shipments
Packages shipped to military APO / FPO and diplomatic DPO addresses must use US Postal Service shipping. Ground, Expedited, and Express shipping cannot be used. To ensure your order is sent via USPS, make sure the country chosen at the shipping step is the United States of America.
- For shipments addressed to Armed Forces Europe, Armed Forces Pacific, and Armed Forces America, make sure to select the option that best fits your Armed Forces shipping destination.
Missing or lost packages
Incorrect delivery addresses, customs delays, natural disasters, and delivery restrictions may delay your order. Orders affected by such delays may take as long as 6 weeks to arrive. The Company of Fifers and Drummers takes no responsibility for delivery delays outside of our control and will take no action on these orders during that time.
Mail and Priority Mail services that do not use tracking may require extra transit times and may take up to 28 days to complete delivery.
Mail and Priority Mail orders that do not use tracking and do not arrive within 28 days may be eligible for a reorder at the discretion of The Company of Fifers and Drummers. Please note that we will not offer more than one reorder for customers choosing to use shipping methods that do not use tracking.
International shipping
Books shipped via Mail will be delivered using the postal service of the destination country.
Local Customs and Immigration agencies determine duties or taxes levied against packages arriving from outside the destination country. These additional fees are the responsibility of the recipient. The Company of Fifers and Drummers cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by the purchaser or recipient of orders due to shipment failure or late delivery.
